Visit Prairie Moraine - Two Parks in One

Your Favorite Off-Leash Dog Park

Prairie Moraine Dog Park includes Dane County's largest off-leash dog exercise area.

Covering 80 acres of varied terrain and with an extensive network of trails, you can walk a different route each time you visit.  An additional 12-acre parcel at the southwest end of the park has been purchased - to be fenced and added to the off-leash area in 2024.

Ice Age Trail - Prairie Moraine

Enjoy the relatively undisturbed beauty and quiet of the restored oak woodlands, savanna, and prairie communities.  And don't miss the view from the scenic overlook on the ridge!

Dogs are welcome in this portion of the park as well, but - as part of the Ice Age Trail -

they must be kept on leash.  Ice Age Trail hikers, which may include families with smaller children, are not prepared to meet uncontrolled dogs, even if friendly!

Watch for events and volunteer opportunities to be posted.
